The Dragon Has Been Slain

 "The dragon has been slain"

by

Felix J. Famularo

Looking north to clear skies and mild temperatures 35 corvettes from Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and of course, Louisiana converged on Chattanooga for dinner.  What?  You thought we were getting together for something else?  Elvis,

he wished, served our table and when we couldn't find him, he was somewhere causing some girl to swoon.  Just ask Mary.  Travelling music was once again provided by the "Cruizin' DJ".  We heard songs like "On Top of Old Smoky", ------, and what trip to the "Tail of the Dragon" would be complete without "Puff, The Magic Dragon".  Advanced warnings of "course changes" were provided by the US Navy.  Ouuuuu-ga.  Ouuuuu-ga. Dive! Dive!

Dickens on the Strand
and The Festival of Lights
at Moody Gardens

Hi All,

Now that the "Dragon has been Slain", it's time to begin the Christmas Celebration.  What better way than to join the celebration in historic Galveston, TX in an area known as "The Strand".

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Be it decreed that all lords, ladies and children shall come and celebrate the 36th Annual "Dickens on The Strand", a holiday festival, where bobbies, Beefeaters and the Queen herself will be on hand to recreate the Victorian London of Charles Dickens. Characters from Dickens novels walk the street. Food and entertainment fill the area with sights and smells that take you back to another era.

Space Shot Mission A Success

Image

By Felix Famularo

As The Confederation of Corvette Clubs of Louisiana departed the Mississippi Welcome Center, the skies cleared and the further north we "flew", accompanied by the themes from the original "Star Trek", "2001, A Space Odyssey", "Star Wars", "The Twilight Zone", and don't forget "Ground Control to Major Tom", the cooler it became.  Jackie G. made a new friend north of Birmingham.  A safe landing in Huntsville, a quick rest and we were off to dinner.  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS

A Tough Act To Follow, in More Ways Than One

by

Felix Famularo

When I got the notice that Chuck Boylan was leading a trip on the "Tail of the Lizard", I have to admit I had second thoughts. The last time I followed Chuck, we found ourselves on a gravel road south of Natchez. Not good. But after all the "U" turns I have lead us on over the years, why not give Chuck another chance.
